SUMMARY

Conducts variety duties including Installs Medical Gas systems and performs

electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical tests on Medical Gas systems and subassemblies to ensure system functions according to specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installation and maintenance of Medical Gas systems
  • Interpret test schedules, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Test functional performance of systems, subassemblies and parts.
  • Reads dials or digital displays that indicate system status.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Be proficient in the use of both electrical and manual hand tools
  • Be proficient in installing copper piping to include Brazing experience.
  • Basic PC knowledge with proficiency in both Word and Excel applications
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet customer’s needs and management’s expectations.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Display ability to take direction.
  • Display ability to work with other team members.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet customer’s needs and management’s expectations.
  • Required extended overnight travel from current living area to job site
  • Will commit to become a highly qualified Medical Gas Installer or Repair Technician

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum five (5) years combined experience and training in a Medical Gas , Mechanical and/or Technical field of employment .

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Must hold 6010 Medical Gas Installer certification

LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
