Responsibilities and/or Key Result Areas
Works as a member of a team that is responsible for the preparation and processing of the company's hourly/salaried payrolls for multiple locations as well as the retiree monthly payroll utilizing a hosted SAAS (Software as a Service) system. Interacts with company employees on a variety of subjects including payroll policies, computation of pay, system changes to employee records and timekeeping. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive employee data; ensuring all payroll information, files and records are maintained in accordance with federal, state and local document retention laws and requirements. Assist with audits of payroll-related activity; research of payroll issues/discrepancies. Run reports using Cognos as a research tool as well as distribution of information to internal management.
Requires 2 to 4 years payroll and/or accounting experience. Corporate Payroll experience preferred. Demonstrates strong proficiency in computer systems and the ability to apply knowledge of software to streamline and improve work processes. Two-year Accounting / Financial degree preferred. Proficient with Microsoft office. Experience with Ultimate Software and Cognos reporting preferred. Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple work assignments while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Proven ability to maintain a high level of confidential information. Must be able to demonstrate from job experience excellent customer service skills and the ability to excel in a fast paced, collaborative, ever changing team environment. Able to work flexible hours as needed. Other combinations of education and/or experience may be considered.
