This is a full time pay band 2 non-exempt classified position which includes Commonwealth of Virginia and CNU employee benefits; and funding is subject to budget approval. (The salary range is $20,080 to $30,000, depending on applicant's experience, qualifications and budget approval.)
The successful candidate will perform maintenance that are moderately complex in nature within the entire on campus housing system consisting of approximately 3800 students. The knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of this position include: Under supervision, must be able to trouble shoot and perform duties involving moderately complex carpentry, plumbing and electrical work; Must have the ability to perform repairs in residential areas; Skilled in the use of hand and power tools; Able to understand and follow written and oral instructions and to perform some manual labor; Escort vendors while on campus, for the purpose of answering questions and providing entry to secure areas; Must have the ability to resolve issues, be able to prioritize work-orders, and inform management of potential issues.
Valid driver's license;
High school diploma or equivalent;
Previous experience using, power drills, handsaws etc;
Previous experience in performing moderately complex maintenance and advanced skilled maintenance.
Experience working in a university or residential setting;
Significant years experience doing maintenance.
