IBM is seeking top talent to join our Business Analytics presales team in North America focused on our social media analytics application; as well as, future, first-of-a-kind applications involving BI and Predictive Analytics capabilities. This team serve as the front-line of subject matter expertise for both the software application and target solution market to the rest of the Business Analytics sales organization. As a key member of the Business Analytics Applications sales team, a Client Technical Professional leverages techniques such as Demonstrations and Proofs of Concept in order to demonstrate value to the customer and instill confidence in IBM's ability to deliver the proposed solution. In this role you will work in lockstep with your team and your sales counterparts to manage all aspects of the technical sales process in your geography. You will provide technical sales support which may include: collaborating with IBM sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions; executing and delivering Proof of Concept results; developing and delivering technical education; supporting critical sales situations; designing solutions; and answering technical questions. Job responsibilities critical to this role include: • Understanding the client's business requirements, technical requirements and/or competitive landscape. • Developing and delivering compelling demonstrations, proof of concepts, prototypes, and other pre-sales assets which tie Business Analytics technology (e.g. Cognos and SPSS) to Customer Value • Understanding Cognos BI and SPSS surrounding technology (DB, App Servers, partner technologies, etc.) at a high level and sharing that expertise across peers • Providing technical assistance for Marketing activities: Regional Workshops, User Group Meetings, Sales Seminars and Trade Shows • Providing product feedback to Product Management and Services on best practices and • Providing relevant technical and cross-brand solution assistance working in conjunction with other IBM brands to the Business Analytics sales team.
