This position is responsible for the identification, management and mitigation of quality, food safety and regulatory risks associated with suppliers to assure vendor/co-packer material conformance and protection of McCormick brands.
Lead the strategic initiatives for the development and execution of a global preventive framework and programs for quality, food safety and regulatory management, including vendor/co-packer performance.
Establish and oversee a vendor/co-packer management system to ensure facilities, programs and products meet all internal and external requirements, specifications and corporate policies.
Identify, investigate and respond to emerging vendor/co-packer issues.
Ensure domestic and foreign supplier verification activities are in place for Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) conformance.
Work collaboratively with suppliers to ensure inspection readiness.
Develop and execute vendor/co-packer audit framework, using sound risk-based principles.
Work collaboratively with internal partners to implement consistent and effective supplier assessment, performance and long-term collaboration processes.
Lead proactive continuous improvement efforts to maximize supplier quality management efficiency, including identification of target resources for effective governance models across the supply chain.
Work closely with business partners in the selection, qualification and understanding of supplier risk and capability.
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Quality Assurance, or other related technical field
Minimum 12 years of food industry experience, with at least 5 years of experience in the QA / QC function
Strong working knowledge of food processing, HACCP, risk management and sanitation
Experience directly managing others
Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills
Experience setting strategies and developing programs in support of supply chain management
Strong communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complicated information, guide and influence internally and externally at all levels
Master’s Degree in business or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in raw materials or related areas
