Overview
The Student Health Service provides medical, dental, and health promotion services to students at Montana State University in Bozeman.

Duties and
Responsibilities

The person in this position serves as an independent, mid-level health care provider who, working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary health care team, is responsible for providing comprehensive care to both well and ill patients. Duties include:
  • Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses;
  • Educating patients in order to promote wellness, prevent health problems, maintain current health and manage their acute or chronic illness;
  • Seeking opportunities for professional growth through participating in continuing education, staff development, committee activities and professional liaisons;
  • Performing related duties as required.

    Required
    Qualifications


    1.
    Licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Montana with prescriptive authority. Applicants who are not currently licensed by the State of Montana must be eligible and must become licensed by the date they begin work.

    2.
    Demonstrated knowledge and treatment skills required of a mid-level provider including knowledge of current health trends and current medications. (Please list examples.)

    3.
    Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills. (Please list examples.)

    4.
    Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment when working in a stressful, fast-paced environment. (Please list examples.)

    Preferred
    Qualifications


    1.
    Experience in a primary care setting.

    2.
    College health experience as a physician assistant or nurse practitioner.

    The successful candidate will also have the ability to : the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers in a team oriented environment; the ability to maintain excellent customer relations; the ability to represent the Student Health Service and its programs in a professional and courteous manner.
