Lead design engineering projects and TSE design engineers by developing innovative designs for a variety of special test equipment and facilities in support of production and development test programs for jet engines and components. Current work includes GTF Engine Development and Rig Test hardware for the BA, MRJ, Irkut, and A320NEO programs.

Coordinate and expedite the procurement, construction, and checkout of test systems while considering factors such as cost, feasibility, safety, environmental impact, and adherence to codes. Follow TSE design standards while participating in design projects from initial concept through installation and check out while interfacing with Engine Project Groups, Test Operations, Applied Mechanics, Purchasing, and outside P&W vendors. Lead and participate in process improvement teams and the development and creation of TSE design standards.

A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, or Industrial Engineering.

Master degree in Engineering is preferred.

A minimum of 6+ years of applicable experience in Engineering.

Strong capabilities in the following areas:
Design project leadership.

Design experience with piping components and systems that are compliant with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and ANSI B31.1.

Design experience with structures that are compliant with AWS D1.1 and AISI codes.

Extensive experience in the design and implementation of electromechanical control systems.

Demonstrated significant experience in design and field installation, assembly, check out and troubleshooting.

Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.

Design experience with ANSYS Finite Element Analysis.

Applicant must have strong technical, interpersonal and leadership skills and be capable of working with minimal direction both independently and as a leader of a cross functional design project team.

Must be able to act as a cohesive link between Project Managers and the engineering staff.
