Hourly Base Rate:
$14.60 - $22.07

Afternoon Shift with rotation if needed

JOB SUMMARY:
The Sterile Processing Technician prepares and distributes supplies and equipment ready for use in all patient care areas, as well as, for the Operating Rooms. Based on pre-determined inventory (PAR) levels, and surgical cases, these technicians count and replenish processed supplies for each location. Reusable instruments and items are collected, decontacminated, repackaged, sterilized and returned to storage or the next point of use. Patient care equipment is collected, cleaned and stored between patient applications., Responsible for tracking some rental equipment. They will work in the operating area to ready supplies and instruments for specific surgical procedures, turn the rooms between cases and assist in moving and lifting patients.

Qualifications

Educational/Licensing:
Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST) through IAHCSM or other recognized or accredited program or ability to obtain certification within 180 days (6 months).

Qualifications

:

Six months experience in Healthcare Materials Management or Sterile Processing strongly preferred.

Skills

:

Able to read, write and communicate in English. Able to follow written and verbal instructions. Knowledge of basic supply handling and infection control practices. Basic experience with personal computers. Ability to work with indirect supervision and make good decisions in setting work priorities. Capable of learning and applying knowledge in a variety of work assignments.
