GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy Americas LLC seeks Computational Reactor Physicist for Wilmington, North Carolina location. Adapt computational methods of neutron transport to novel solutions for problems in reactor physics. Responsible for technical development projects within GE Energy’s Nuclear business related to advanced reactor core simulation and analysis. Work as part of a methods development team in implementing the next generation of analysis tools for modeling the steady-state and transient behavior of current and new reactor design, especially as it relates to advances fuel designs. Prepare and conduct business reviews to GE staff, integrating with overall GE Energy strategies. Responsibilities include all activities related to development of software simulation tools including software documentation and validation, user training and customer interfacing.
Master’s degree in Medical Science, Nuclear Engineering, or related field with a nuclear background. Three (3) years of experience as a Computational Reactor Physicist or related occupation required. Prior experience must include 3 years of experience performing nuclear methods and software development; 1 year of experience developing neutron transport theory based simulation models for nuclear reactor analysis; and 1 year of scientific programming experience in FORTRAN.
