TITLE: Press Assistant

DEPARTMENT: Communications

LOCATION: Washington, DC

EVP, Global Communications

FLSA: Non-Exempt

The Press Assistant will join a fast paced, high energy communications team at the crux of the entertainment and political arenas. Primary responsibilities will be providing general support to the EVP, Global Communications and the worldwide communications staff.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain mainstream media and social media lists.

Manage/monitor media and clip reports on a daily basis.

Updating website with press releases, news articles, and timely content

Monitor Internet and social media news postings, blogs, Facebook and Twitter feeds.

Coordinating department meetings, scheduling, and travel

Organize and direct inbound media calls; field media requests.

Draft public correspondence and assist with research projects as needed

Assist in logistical preparation and staffing for association events.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Political Science, Public Relations or related field and a minimum of one year experience working in a press/media, public affairs, or political environment

Computer graphic skills and html experience a plus.


Must possess the highest level of work ethic and integrity with the ability to maintain confidential information.

Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.)

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Expertise in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Proven ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proven ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
