I am currently seeking a Contract Senior SQL Server Development&DBA Architect to join a leading financial services organisation in Boston. The position is based in the Core Database Architecture team. This organisation is a leading investment technology company with locations throughout the globe. This is a unique opportunity in Boston on a contract basis, to be part of a dynamic group that is changing the way the investment world functions.
What would you be doing as a DBA/ Architect? Building new databases and adding new functionalities in the database. Defining and designing databases for transactional systems products and data management/DWH projects. Building prototypes in SQL.
Together with the 3 other architecture groups defining and designing DB architecture using new technologies. Understanding and refining flaws in the existing database and generating solutions that will enhance the system. Submit and explain the design to the execution team and justify the choices that you have made. Data Modelling and integration of Databases.
Software tool designing. The team: Very bright individuals that have earned their stripes in database design and database architecture, they are eager to learn new technologies, and are part of the creation of an industry recognised order management used by the global buy-side to streamline their investment processes. Job Functions: Very strong Data modeling having worked with ERWin case tool would be a preference. Database design (OLTP and/or Datawarehouse/OLAP) SQL Server 2008/2008R2, SSIS/SSAS/SSRS Strong SQL skills, performance tuning Experience with .NET/C# a big plus Knowledge of the financial industry a big plus Team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field. Very good experience designing databases and database applications (transactional and/or data warehouse) Very good experience with SQL Server The contract is based on a long term commitment, they would consider contract to perm if you have the right skills.
