Project Overview: Software Design/Development providing a DHS agency with a modern IT system for investigative case management. The project is 5 years duration (from October 2011). The program uses technologies such as SharePoint, WebSphere, and Oracle, and is being developed through the Agile SCRUM method.
Background: This DHS Agency investigates immigration crime, human rights violations and human smuggling, smuggling of narcotics, weapons and other types of contraband, financial crimes, cybercrime and export enforcement issues. Special agents conduct investigations aimed at protecting critical infrastructure industries that are vulnerable to sabotage, attack or exploitation.
Design and implement enterprise JAVA services connected to an Oracle database
Test software using automated unit and integration tests
Document the design according to the Government's system lifecycle methodology
Work with end users in an Agile development approach to understand requirements, then elicit feedback and refine solution through demonstrations
2-4 years of JAVA software development of enterprise systems
Experience designing and delivering complex, highly-scalable software components in an large scale enterprise application
Experience working with users to define requirements and demonstrate solutions
Experience using Spring to dynamically configure Java services
Expertise in WSDL, SOAP and REST and other web services standards
Experience writing jUnit unit tests
Developing in a WebSphere and RAD environment
Web Services development patterns
EasyMock unit testing framework
Agile development approach
Good communication skills (writing and presenting)
Good team interaction skills
