This is a full time professional position that will report directly to the Supervising Financial Analyst in the University Controller's Office. The incumbent will assist the University Supervising Financial Analyst with numerous tasks, primarily in the fields of Internal Controls and Cost Accounting.
The hired individual will be required to communicate and meet with University Faculty and Staff in order to gather information and complete pricing studies on an as needed basis for various departments. The hired individual will also spend the majority of their time working with internal controls. The incumbent will be required to accompany the Internal Control Coordinator on departmental review meetings (audits) as well as examine financial reports, data, records, and procedures to ensure proper internal controls are in place and followed. The hired individual will then be required to write a brief summary and make recommendations that will help strengthen internal controls within the department.
In addition to the primary duties above, the incumbent may also be required to assist the Financial Analyst and University Controller with various ad hoc projects as assigned.
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in the area of Finance, Business, or a related field and experience of working in a professional business setting. The applicant must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel and Word, have strong written, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills as well as have high attention to detail. Demonstrated experience working with culturally diverse groups of people is required.
