This role is responsible for the end to end insurance claims process coupled with planning, implementing and evaluating all activities of the company wide Risk Management program including identifying and assessing potential risk, planning and implementing loss control activities, structuring and presenting risk educational programs, insuring adequate risk financing, managing internal claims control activities and maintaining appropriate records. Responsible for Investigating, reporting, tracking and trending potential risks. The successful candidate will have experience in standard Risk Management practices, possess excellent communication skills, negotiation skills, the ability to work with various personnel, making recommendations for corrective actions and the capability of motivating others.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end to end insurance claims process, to include reporting and internal handling of automobile, general liability and property claims
  • Keen ability to organize information, people and resources
  • Participate in monthly Safety review call as a strategic partner to the Safety & Health team
  • Ensure proper and efficient claim investigation, processing, reporting and reserve establishment
  • Oversee production and management of certificate of insurance practices
  • Provide review, guidance and oversight of insurance requirements related to subcontractors
  • Prepare and participate in the insurance program structure and renewals
  • Manage in-house insurance claims Associates, including hiring, coaching, development, day to day supervision, training, discipline
  • Perform periodic claim audits for process oversight and evolving practices.
  • Maintain current Standard Operating Procedures Manual for the in-house claims process
  • Provide accurate data related to claims process for reporting and audit purposes
  • Participate in year-end chargeback reporting
  • Serve as liaison to insurance brokers and carriers
  • Participate in the development and delivery of loss control training solutions
  • Manage risk information systems
  • Evaluate and negotiate vendor services and relationships
  • Assigned responsibilities may vary based on evolving business needs

  • Required Skills
  • Minimum education required—Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Special skills required— Field training in safety, risk management and workers’ compensation
  • Ability to interact with associates at all levels within the organization and interface with vendors and other third party support services
  • Excellent verbal written and presentation skills as well as ability to handle multiple tasks, competing priorities on an ongoing basis
  • Special knowledge required--Ongoing professional education
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office products, advanced Excel, report preparation and presentation
  • Required Experience
  • Minimum experience required—5 years in related field. (risk management, claims, workers’ compensation)
  • Supervisory experience ideal
