Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience: Ahigh school graduate and previous institutional dietary service experience is preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Successful completion of State Approved Nurse Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation Program; Name must appear on State Registry as Geriatric Nurse Assistant in good standing. Numerical ability is necessary for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals, as well as good motor coordination and manual dexterity are required for various work routines such as preparing food items, serving trays, handling soiled dishes, operating dietary equipment and cleaning work area.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Follows Company meal and break policy.
Uses supplies without wasting.
Follows Federal and State long-term care regulations and Dietary Department policies and procedures.
Follows cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
Washes and store dishes.
Assists in receiving and storing food and supplies.
Follows defined safety codes while performing all duties.
Prepares meals and garnishments daily.
Serves on tray line as needed.
Assists others with the preparation of food for special functions.
Maintains clean and sanitary work area.
Sets up food for tray line in appropriate sized pans.
Pulls and preps for next day's production.
Checks and cleans tray lines as needed.
Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required.
