Job Title: Instructional Designer

(Grant Funded Program Coordinator 1/State University Administrator I - SUA 1)

Position Description: Instructional Designer for the Institute for Interactive Technologies.

Qualifying Experience/Education: Master's degree in Instructional Technology or related undergraduate/graduate degree with extensive experience in instructional design required. Prior instructional design and development experience required.

Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations. Experience with conversion of documents to PDF; development applications (such as Captivate, Flash, Dreamweaver, etc.); Graphic applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.); sound and video applications; managing projects and/or groups/teams preferred. Familiarity with scripting languages (Actionscript, JavaScript); web practices (Accessibility and Universal Design, CSS, standards and guidelines); integration of training into an LMS/LCM preferred.

Finalist(s) for this position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview.

Applicants will be rated on the following criteria:
  • Extensive experience and skills in using all aspects of the authoring tool Articulate required.
  • Experience with conversion of documents to PDF; development applications (such as Captivate, Flash, Dreamweaver, etc.)
  • Experience in creating scripts and recording and editing audio
  • Experience in the use of Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Experience in the creation and testing of assessment tools
  • Experience in managing projects and project development teams
  • Experience with integrating training into Learning Management Systems
  • Experience working with clients
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
  • Term of Appointment: Temporary full-time. Anticipated length of employment is approximately 35 weeks, or through project completion.

    Appointment Date: March, 2013

    Salary: $19.37 per hour
