The Pipeline Engineer position actively provides technical support and leadership to safely and effectively manage the assets and personnel within their assigned geographical area of responsibility. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: overseeing daily operational activities; design, installation, and upgrades of facilities; assurance of compliance with federal and state pipeline regulations (DOT/PHMSA, RRC, LDNR, etc.); manage capital and expense projects; assist in the planning and execution of integrity management activities; drive improvement and improve efficiency; support business development concepts; implement Process Safety (MOC, PHA, etc.) and Operational Excellence programs; and support emergency response activities.
Oversees daily operational activities. Works with internal (work group, SCADA, Technical & HSE) and external resources to improve system operations and realize efficiencies
Functions as Project Manager/Engineer for assigned pipeline projects. These projects may include pipelines, support structures, pumps, meter stations, and other related facilities.
Performs cost estimates, hydraulic studies, and other engineering studies and calculations. Researches and recommends new technology and equipment.
Assist in the planning and execution of integrity management (hydrostatic tests, in-line inspection tools, guided wave, etc.) activities
Apply engineering concepts to solve performance and reliability problems
Work with corporate Business Development group and other entities to evaluate feasibility and cost/benefit of potential projects
Interfaces with DOT/PHMSA, Texas Railroad Commission, and LDNR concerning compliance issues and audits
Improve Process Safety (MOC, PHA, Incident Reporting, etc.) and Operational Excellence programs
Monitor encroachments and evaluate effects on existing & future assets
Interfaces with pipeline suppliers and customers concerning pipeline issues
Support and develop supervisor and technicians assigned to area of responsibility
