Role and Responsibilities
This is a newly created position and is such a unique opportunity for a “best in class” Human Resources professional to drive the growth of Eye-Fi’s team. This person will have mastered how to develop and implement best practices, and at their discretion review and renew current standing policies, as well as implementing new ones. This person will demonstrate strong acumen for leadership through example and direction being able to navigate well and stay focused in a dynamic and fast paced organization. The core role is a “Generalist” with an initial primary focus of employee relations, hiring, retention and execution of payroll and benefits. This position will report directly to the CFO.
Develop and maintain personnel policies and procedures; conduct appropriate research, determine deficiencies through analysis and supporting documentation and provide recommendations for change and improvements.
Ensure current policies are operating under and are in compliance of all local, state and federal labor laws.
Partner with hiring managers and recruiting team to ensure talent flow and retention.
Clearly communicate company benefits to new and existing employees through appropriate documentation, training, and regular communication.
Act as a trusted advisor and partner of the Leadership team, providing ongoing support and contributing to Eye-Fi’s vision and strategies through employee relations, education, and team building.
Ensure all employee data is up to date and in compliance with all local, state, and federal guidelines and provide alternate methods of data retention as needed.
Conduct effective coaching and counsel to all employees to reduce liabilities and exposure.
Knowledge of federal, state, local laws pertaining to standard HR practices.
Drive our HR initiatives across all departments both locally and globally including staffing, performance management, compensation planning, and communication.
Review and assess current payroll practices and make recommendations or changes as needed to meet the needs of our business.
Maintain and complete all new hire paperwork and develop a comprehensive on-boarding program.
Solid understanding of and responsible for maintaining the yearly personnel budget and staff, making adjustments as appropriate.
Manage the effectiveness of our current compensation plan and provide recommendations and creative solutions for cost-controls.
Comprehensive knowledge of FMLA, COBRA, WVPP, and EEO policies as required by the State of California.
Lead our efforts in continuing to provide an excellent benefits program while managing our current outsourced services.
Roll out effective tools to new and existing employees through various communicative modalities.
Extensive knowledge of laws, regulations, and procedures for H-1B, J-1, and TN nonimmigrant visa and other related immigration and visa.
Minimum: 5-8 years experience with at least 2 years in a global HR role.
Able to work effectively in a complex and dynamic global start-up organization with a high degree of ambiguity.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to build positive, trusting and credible relationships at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to maintain diplomacy, confidentiality, and neutrality.
Experience in the high tech, consumer products space.
Education and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree with preferred discipline of HR, Communications or related field
HR certification (PHR, SPHR) or advanced degree in related field
