The Associate Director (AD) for Undergraduate Business Career Development and Employer Relations, in collaboration with the Director of the Undergraduate Business Program, is responsible for strategy development and administration of the career development function within the undergraduate business program. The AD will oversee career development and employer relations activities in the undergraduate business program and provide career coaching and training across a variety of sectors, industries and job functions, as well as leverage all resources to create substantive opportunities in which students can engage with hiring organizations. The Associate Director will work closely with the MBA Program, University Career Services ( UCS ), and other units within the business school and to find and develop synergies in employer relations, as well as training and development. The AD ensures the delivery of a comprehensive portfolio of programs (workshops, seminars, recruiting-focused events, engagement with student clubs and organizations, and other services) that reflect the ever-changing interests and needs of undergraduate business students to prepare them for internships and postgraduate employment in a competitive global job market. The Associate Director will also have responsibility for student development (counseling, advising, and coaching) and building appropriate connections with faculty teaching in areas related to student career paths. The Associate Director reports to the Director of the Undergraduate Business Program.

Educational Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is strongly preferred. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience
Position requires the following: Five (5) or more years of experience in business development, recruiting, human resources; or a related business relevant field with a minimum of five (5) years in a client-facing role. Strong leadership skills and management experience. Sales skills and the ability to effectively and enthusiastically represent UNC Kenan-Flagler undergraduate business students and the undergraduate business program to targeted organizations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written presentation) with an ability to communicate with a variety of clients at all levels including executives, alumni, and recruiting professionals. Critical requirements include: professional demeanor, strong organizational and project management skills, attention-to-detail, the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, flexibility, metrics orientation and the ability to analyze and interpret large data sets in Excel, as well as the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong proficiency in technology (office productivity and information management software): Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc. Willingness to travel 10-20 . The ideal candidate will demonstrate creative thinking and an innovative approach to contemporary career management which includes understanding the connection between technology, student behavior, and employer relations. The candidate will be someone with professional experience in a global organization, a background in corporate relations business development, an understanding of the recruiting environment, and counseling, advising, or coaching experience. The ability to manage the demands of unpredictable employer and student concerns is a must. The individual must be willing and able to attend and or manage events in the evening hours and some weekends during peak recruiting periods (September, October, November, January, and February). Some travel is required to visit key employers, accompany students on recruiting trips, and represent UNC Kenan-Flagler at national and international conferences.
