In this role, you'll be responsible for the design verification of complex high speed digital logic for high performance DSPs. Specific responsibilities will include verification planning, testbench development, test case development, test case debug, coverage measurement, coverage analysis, and metric/status reporting.
Testbench development will include defining the architecture and implementation of: directed and random test generators, coverage models, reference models and bus functional models. Test case development will include the use of directed and random test generators, development of coverage-driven, pseudo-random module and chip level test strategies, test plans, and test cases using module level and system level techniques.
The ideal candidate will have 5 years of design verification/validation experience, preferably related to high performance processor or memory system designs. Direct experience with testbench development using the Specman ‘e’ language and/or System Verilog is needed. Advanced knowledge of coverage based verification and test plan development is a big plus.
General knowledge of a CPU or DSP core and/or cache and memory system architecture is also required. This engineer must have experience working with VHDL or Verilog. Knowledge and familiarity with simulation and debug tools and previous experience with verification test languages such as System Verilog and Specman, and experience with verification standards such as OVM is strongly desired.
The person in this position must know how to do C/C++ and assembly level programming and debug. Experience with Perl and/or Tcl programming languages, as well as knowledge and familiarity with working in a UNIX environment, are also required.
Great communication skills, along with the ability to work as part of a team, drive closure to issues, participate in cross-team development and provide impact across multiple teams are needed for success in this role.
