GoJotter is looking for a new intern, whom we will lovingly dub our Chief Intern Officer. We°re a small, dedicated team searching for someone to come in on the ground floor and take ownership of a wide variety of tasks, from managing social media to designing marketing materials or finding and reaching out to partner companies. What°s GoJotter?A new social site for discovering, remembering, and sharing the best events in NYC. Have a peek at GoJotter.com.You should...Know the events scene in New York City inside and out (music? theater?

comedy? nightlife? You don°t need to be an expert in all of them but you should have some special areas of interest and have a general idea of where you could go to get all of them).Be creative, tech-savvy, and self-directed enough to take on new projects at the drop of a hat. We°re currently at an early stage so we don°t have offices (maybe in October!) and we do a good deal of our meetings through Google Hangouts, so we°re looking for someone self-motivated who can figure out how they can best contribute without an excess of handholding, though we°re happy to show you the ropes and get you set up.Be able to get around in Photoshop, Excel/Google Spreadsheets (knowing some of those fancy formulas would be nice), and whatever other tools you can use to make things happen.

Programming knowledge is preferred but not necessary, though you should be at least conceptually comfortable with some basic web/email design.Be able to learn anything you don°t know pretty quickly without too much guidance - Google knows all.Be willing to put a lot of effort into the boring stuff, while also being up for contributing to higher level strategy.Have experience with Twitter and other social media, and an intuitive sense for branding and how to communicate with users.Be ready to start before September, ideally in mid-August.You will do some or all of these (and more)...Manage our social media presence, including Twitter and Facebook.Scrape or manually mine venue sites and other sources for event information and get all of that data onto our site - we°re starting to automate some of this, though some may be manually. So be willing to sit down and grind out some data entry.Find and prioritize the hottest venues and events that should be included on our site, and curate specific lists recommending the best events in various categories.Send out a weekly email through MailChimp that automatically reminds users of the events they°ve jotted that week (we°ll teach you how), along with intern-selected recommendations for the top events to check out that week in New York and potentially other cities.Produce marketing materials as needed. This could mean designing a bookmark, finding a printer to get them made, and handing them out at River to River events. We°re working with a graphic designer it would be best if you could handle the basic stuff.Reach out to venues, ticketing sites, and event curators to get them interested in the site and willing to work with us.

If you lack the skills in some of these areas, let us know of other talents you have that would help us out just as much or more. You get...10 dollars an hour and total job freedom - you can work whenever and wherever you want. We°re looking for someone who°s willing to work with us for the next few months (probably at least 20 hours a week, up to full time, depending on when you want to work and what there is to work on) and available to hopefully stay on for a higher-level position as we continue to expand.
