The Sr. Operations Manager has operational and managerial responsibility for an electronic hybrid assembly manufacturing line in terms of costs, methods and employees. The Sr. Operations Manager must demonstrate leadership and the ability to drive change to achieve key performance objectives and business results Position must be capable of teaching and mentoring team members to foster individual development and growth. Applying Lean Sigma Principles, this position will establish a culture of continuous improvement and prevention to achieve performance excellence. The Lean Sigma tools may include but are not limited to six sigma, design for six sigma, lean, project management and other improvement techniques. This position interfaces with external contacts and multiple internal functions across division and business.
Provides operational leadership for an electronic hybrid assembly value stream operation integrating Lean Sigma methodologies to drive operational performance. Defines and reports operational metrics.
Leads a diverse manufacturing team across multiple shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing operation. Responsible for attracting top talent, developing, mentoring, and motivating team members.
Directly influences development of overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
Formulate and implement Lean Sigma operations strategy focused on achieving quality, cost and efficiency objectives.
Provide technical leadership for Lean-Sigma operations strategy, vision and application across site.
Influencer and driver of change to establish Lean Sigma thinking (variation reduction, improve customer satisfaction, elimination of waste). Applies Lean Sigma methodologies to maximize operational effectiveness and efficiency. Drives continuous improvement efforts demonstrating a systematic approach and establishes Lean culture across area of responsibility.
Responsible for developing, mentoring and motivating Green Belts and Black Belts.
Teaches, coaches and mentors team members to achieve professional growth and greater job satisfaction. Develop and identify operations talent pipelines and leadership development opportunities.
Drive communication across the site to ensure awareness and involvement at all levels and leverage solutions and share best practices.
Drives identification and resolution of Opportunities for Error (OFE) to establish a culture of prevention.
Ensures team members have clear goals and performance expectations and provides ongoing coaching and feedback consistent with employee needs.
Demonstrates and encourages team-oriented behavior in dealing with others and handles conflict constructively.
Influences and enhances culture through strong Diversity and Inclusion Programs.
Behaves ethically in all situations and reports or challenges unethical behavior of others.
BS in Engineering or related discipline
5+ years of progressive leadership experience in functional area or related field
10 years direct manufacturing leadership experience in the electronic assembly industry.
Master Black Belt certification with demonstrated project leadership and successful track record of coaching and mentoring Lean Sigma projects.
PMP certification with demonstrated successful project leadership experience.
