Accounting, Reconciliations and Investigations (AR&I) focus is the management of accounting related information while closely adhering to operational risk guidelines, the timely and accurate reconciliation of accounts and financial reporting. The Senior SAS Programmer Lead will play a key role in supporting these functions through the delivery of high quality data management. This individual will be responsible for the production of a wide variety of data structures, reporting and automation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Development of a data integrity schema for non-standard accounting data and oversight of adherence to said schema.
Coach and develop 2 – 3 team members in the effective use of the SAS programming language. Assist with the integration of SAS as a tool for data extraction, manipulation and storage.
Automation of solutions through existing tools or the recommendation of new automation solutions.
Evaluation of locally developed applications to identify opportunities for consolidation and/or improvement
Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree in Technology related field
2 – 4 years of supervisory/managerial experience
5 – 7 years relevant work experience in a data support role
Minimum 5 years SAS programming experience, preferably in the financial industry
Strong problem solving and time management skills
Superior customer service orientation
Advanced analytical capability.
The ability to multi-task and function efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment is truly important.
Solid knowledge of MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Solid written, verbal and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to support others through development and coaching.
Desired Certifications and experience:
SAS Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9
Accounting experience is preferred, but not required
