The SAS Data Analyst will work together with the IT and Instrumentation teams to provide strategic direction, daily leadership, and key technical expertise to a series of data systems. Main duties of this position include data recording and management, analyzing and interpreting the results, and providing guidelines and data analysis to cross functional teams, accordingly. This position also provides statistical supports such as experimental design and data analysis to a growing set of projects within the wheat process and applications. The SAS Data Analyst will report into the Wheat Research and Quality Manager and is part of Horizon Milling R&D Group.
Horizon Milling Analytical, Instrumentation and Bake (AIB) Lab is the central lab of 20+ mills. Many daily activities of wheat material and process evaluation and flour product quality analysis are conducted. Multiple data series and reports are generated to serve both internal and external customers. The SAS Data Analyst will maintain the proper function and operation of AIB Lab as well as IT and other data systems that is critical for the whole BU business.
Develop, maintain and manage data systems and IT programs for AIB (50%)
Provide support to help manage the NIR network and NIR Calibrations (20%)
Provide statistical support for research projects (15%)
Develop process control programs (15%)
Master Degree in Statistics and or Computer Science
1 + years business experience in research.
Experience or knowledge with SAS programming in a business setting.
Good organizational (planning, coordination) skills
Good project management skills
Ability to collaborate with other technical groups and BU’s
Strong interpersonal and customer facing skills
Excellent oral communication and writing skills
Travel up to 20%
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
PHD in Statistics
Large data management and system administrator experience is desired
1 + years of process automation and/or scripting programming
Experience working with the NIR calibration teams
Experience providing support to help manage the NIR network and NIR Calibrations
Previous experience working in an analytical and/or baking lab setting
