Position Title: Donor Relations Coordinator I

Position Summary

The Donor Relations Coordinator I will manage The Florida State University Foundations Presidents Club donor recognition society and serve as the liaison between donors and the central Foundation. The coordinator will collaboratively implement stewardship initiatives including acknowledging, reporting and recognizing donors to the FSU Foundation.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate logistics of the Presidents Club and Westcott Society, the FSU Foundations donor recognition societies:
    • Assemble and mail Presidents Club and Westcott Society welcome packets to donors who achieve this level of giving;
    • In collaboration with OAR and other Foundation personnel, review and, as necessary, refine and develop donor benefits and recognition programs;
    • Periodically review Presidents Club and Westcott Society collateral material to determine if updates are needed;
  • Appropriately log donor contact information in Raisers Edge, the Foundations prospect management system, and keep constituent development officers (CDOs) appraised of donor issues and questions;
  • Support the Foundation Board of Trustees and the FSU Real Estate Foundation Board of Directors by recording, transcribing and editing minutes and assisting with meeting logistics;
  • Work with communication staff members to develop and refine donor content on oneFSU, our secure, online community;
  • Oversee and coordinate student scholarship thank-you letter process;
  • Assist with the yearly endowed fund stewardship report project;
  • Research and write gift acknowledgement letters for the Foundations executive vice president;
  • Serve as primary stewardship contact for specific colleges/units and develop targeted stewardship programs tailored to their donors;
  • Assist in the planning, implementation and staffing of appropriate donor recognition and cultivation events that meet specific objectives;
  • Collaborate with other Foundation staff to compile the honor rolls and recognition listings of donors, which includes Presidents Club donors, Westcott Society, Circle of Support and other giving societies as developed;
  • Collaborate with OAR staff to develop messaging, collateral material and events that support donor relations initiatives;
  • Document new departmental processes/procedures and update existing ones;
  • Pursue continuing education and training in Raisers Edge as well as best practices in donor relations;
  • Protect confidential information;
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited university;
  • Two years of experience in a private-or public-sector fundraising organization or customer service environment;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, most notably Excel, Internet navigation and research;
  • Experience with Raisers Edge or customer management software systems;
  • Functional knowledge of database software, preferably Raisers Edge, and the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
