Primary Purpose:
This position is part of the Morning Pointe Management Team responsible for the creation of resident-focused, high performance, high-commitment work teams that support the Morning Pointe purpose of “partnering with families in meeting the challenges of life”. The Resident Services Director is responsible for overseeing the quality delivery of resident services and supervising the resident assistant staff.

Qualifications/Skills Needed:
Candidate should possess an RN or LPN nursing degree. Candidates should have five years experience in senior resident services. Experience in staff supervision required. Strong verbal and written communications skills as well as excellent organization and interpersonal skills are a must. Resident Services directors use Windows 98, Office Suite 99, Outlook E-mail and Internet Explorer for corporate communication and workflow. Proficiency in these applications is strongly preferred. Occasional travel required. Valid drivers license and proof of insurability required.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Resident Focused Duties:
Work with the Executive Director to building relationships and strong communication with residents and families to aid in their adjustment to Morning Pointe, identification of needs and problems and an appropriate plan of service is developed.
In accordance with the staffing plan, serve as Resident Assistant fulfilling all resident care responsibilities as required by staffing plan and / or business needs.
Responsible for the orientation, training, communication, supervision and evaluation of all Resident Assistant staff members. Meet with Resident Assistants to discuss performance issues and complete 90 day and annual performance appraisals under the guidance and direction of the Executive Director. All associate paperwork, reviews, payroll, appraisals, documentation must be reviewed / approved by the Executive Director before submission to the Home Office.
Assist the Morning Pointe Management Team in maintaining a residential environment, which focuses service delivery on promoting individual resident capabilities through coordination of resident service operations and programming functions for all departments.
Ensure successful implementation of operations policies, procedures and programs within the guidelines of state regulations and Morning Pointe policies.
Professional intervention in resident needs as indicated.
Inform Executive Director and appropriate Home Office Staff of any concerns related to the residence, residents, or associates.
Recruit and select Resident Assistant staff.
Provide initial and on-going training for the Resident Assistant staff.
Responsible for the scheduling of Resident Assistant staff, call-in coverage, and work/shift assignments.
Ensure that appropriate associate counseling and disciplinary actions occur with approval from the Executive Director.
Ensure that staff turnover is minimized and meet annualized percent goal.
Responsible for coordination and implementation of specific core programs, such as well care guidelines, hydration, falls prevention, exercise, and others as identified.
Identify and share resident success stories and best practices to demonstrate the impact of improved quality of service provided.
Define other associates’ roles in core programs and ensure access to training necessary to fulfill those roles.
Update daily assignment sheets.
Participate in family conferences as needed to discuss the residents’ status and review appropriate service plan and medication regimen.
Complete quarterly, and significant change service assessments. Assist Program Services Director in completing quarterly resident report cards to update sponsor(s) on the residents’ level of care and physical, cognitive and emotional well being.
Meeting with residents daily to encourage communication and to gain an understanding on their needs.
Coordinate physician communications and visits that occur while on duty. Document all physician contact in the resident’s service record.
Inform Executive Director of any concerns or changes related to the residents’ physical cognitive or emotional well being.
Complete the corresponding service summary forms.
Provide coverage in the Resident Services department, working as a Resident Assistant and performing all job duties as necessary.
Check Medication Assistance Records (MARs) when new medications arrive, contact the pharmacy regarding changes with medications and conduct QA audits of the Medication Assistant Records and medication cart as indicated.
Assists the Morning Pointe Management team in the scheduling of ancillary services such as podiatry, dentist, therapies, pharmacy consultation and other similar services.
Provide transportation for residents if needed.
Create and maintain service records for new residents and work with families to assure all required paperwork is provided. Work directly with and supervise Resident Assistants in the creation and maintenance of resident records including the following:
Proper creation of Resident Records upon move-in.
Documentation of all medications
Proper notation on Resident Services notes
Maintain outside provider laboratory reports
Maintain reports including incident and death reports
Complete transfer forms
Maintain report care summaries

Administrative Duties / Staff Management:
Assist in answering and forwarding incoming calls.
Provide information about the Morning Pointe Community when the Executive Director is not available.
Greet and assist visitors.
As needed, inform supervisor and appropriate Home Office staff of any concerns related to the residence, residents or associates.
Inventory, maintain and replenish resident service supplies as necessary (housekeeping supplies, paper products, and office supplies). Maintain proper Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) documentation and update MSDS book as needed.
Assist new associates in completing all new hire paperwork. Upon review/approval from the Executive Director, forward required forms to the Human Resources Department at the Home Office. Completed personnel file w/ criminal records check form must be forwarded to the Executive Director.
Ensure proper administration of Workers’ Compensation and Unemployment Compensation programs.
Complete Workers’ Compensation paperwork and Employer First Report of Injury as necessary in the absence of the Executive Director.
Collect timecards, check for accuracy and add total time for the Resident Assistant staff. Complete payroll spreadsheet and forward to the Executive Director for compilation to the Payroll department.
Approve and ensure that appropriate associate counseling and disciplinary action occurs with approval from the Executive Director.
Ensure that staff turnover is minimized and meet annualized percent goal.
Plan and carry out special duties or projects as assigned.

Physical Demands:
This position is classified as HEAVY, requiring exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to life/move objects. Functional requirements include constant standing and walking. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, turning and stretching. Finger and hand dexterity required. Visual and hearing acuity essential. Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions necessary. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations required.
