Ensures orders have been dated and signed.
Demonstrates competence in initial and ongoing age-appropriate evaluations by using subjective and objective data.
Evaluates the skilled speech/language therapy needs of the referred patient and develops a written and prioritized plan of treatment in collaboration with the patient and/or other members of the health care team.
Directs and aids patients in appropriate prioritized treatments for various disorders.
Instructs patients, family members and other essential personnel in the use of adaptive equipment and implementation of home program.
Implements and revises Speech/Language Therapy Plan of Care.
Documents evaluations, assessments, screenings, prescription plans, treatments, goals, communications to other, progress notes, home programs, discharge plans and discharge summaries.
Establishes and implements discharge plans.
Supervises other essential personnel in implementation of Speech/Language Plan of Care.
Master’s Degree with emphasis in Speech/Language Pathology.

For work on the NICU, 3 years minimum experience and completion of department NICU orientation program (three months).
Professional memberships and development of career goals encouraged.
Ability to work in an environment where latex may be present.
Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech/Language and Hearing Association.
Licensed by the state of New Hampshire.
