Provide technical compensation expertise in support of Purdue's compensation redesign efforts. Serve as the key subject matter expert in support of the design, implementation, administration and communication of a new non-faculty compensation program.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related area.
Three years of human resources experience with progressive experience working in compensation with job evaluation/analysis, structure development, survey completion/analysis and related compensation policies and process development.
Ability to multi-task between different projects.
Ability to work on complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation.
Excellent written/verbal communication skills along with strong planning, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, project management and customer service skills.
Ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels utilizing teamwork in daily work activities.
Possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting business processes.
Personal computer and related software skills (word processing, spreadsheet, database, data query, Internet, etc)
Knowledge of position mapping: ability to review available job information (position descriptions, titles, compensation, etc) to make initial judgments about job levels and classification.
Knowledge of Market Pricing/Structure Development: insights about differences between job level requirements, understanding/knowledge of compensation surveys; creating salary structures based on benchmark data; slotting non-benchmark jobs based on internal value; examining geographic differentials to determine if meaningful differences exist.
Knowledge of Cost Modeling: highly analytical capability, including examining differences between current and potential changes in pay; ability to examine employee, job and University-wide impact; can apply leadership-level preferences for pay allocation (critical jobs, high performers, etc.)
Certificated Compensation Professional (CCP) designation.
A Background Check will be required for employment in this position.
