Duties

The Commissioning Engineer is responsible for leadership and management of the recommissioning program. This includes planning of recommissioning efforts; development of schedules and budgets; review of recommissioning RFP's; review of recommissioning reports and recommendations; assessing recommendations for their validity and value as well as their ability to be implemented; developing plans for and implementing energy conservation measures in support Climate Action Plan (CAP) goals of energy and carbon footprint reduction; defining the metrics for evaluating the recommissioning program; and tracking the results. The Commissioning Engineer will communicate the recommissioning findings to the building managers as well as the school/center operations staff. The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for development of a continuous commissioning program including, but not limited to, collecting operating data, data analysis, and improved preventative maintenance. The Commissioning Engineer will also identify, review, and recommend energy conservation measures outside of the recommissioning process to meet the CAP goals. The Commissioning Engineer will participate in design reviews for mechanical systems and controls focusing on energy conservation, life cycle cost impacts, operational efficiency, and maintainability. The Commissioning Engineer will also support commissioning activities of new construction projects by providing technical guidance and support to design and construction project managers responsible for commissioning work. This work includes commissioning plan reviews, construction site visits, and witnessing of testing and start-up of equipment.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required and 7 to 10 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Professional Engineering License desirable.
