The Fidelity Customer Protection Services (FCPS) team builds and supports authentication and identity management applications to facilitate secure access to Fidelity''s customer facing systems. We operate through multiple channels including internet, voice and trusted partner sites. The FCPS product line works directly with many of Fidelity''s business units including the retail brokerage, 401k, and institutional brokerage to provide authentication solutions enabling critical customer transactions. We are looking for a principal-level developer to participate in a diverse array of development projects.

Primary Responsibilities

Participate in planning, design, development, and implementation for multiple initiatives
Develop systems with both traditional Waterfall and Agile development methodologies and principles. As such, you must possess strong inter-personal skills and be comfortable following the best practices of these processes.
Conducts studies of alternatives; analyzes and recommends changes to development procedures; participates in architecture design.
Develop technical system design documents.
Production support of software application.

Education and Experience

8 years of software development experience, including implementation of enterprise solutions in a J2EE environment.
Demonstrated experience in all of the following: Java, J2EE, Tomcat, Linux, HTML, JavaScript, XML, XSL
Experience with C/C , IBM WebSphere, Unix preferred
Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related preferred
Experience with web applications development. Security systems experience a plus.
Experience working in a technical lead capacity including mentoring and coaching development staff

Skills and Knowledge

Solid understanding of the enterprise software development process including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution and planning.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to contribute to design and functional specification documentation. Strong organization and coordination skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical associates
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to the authoring and delivery of software and web applications
