What You'll Do
The ideal candidate for the Market Development Specialist position will reside in or around the Madison, WI area. As a Market Development team member you will work closely with our Product Management and Sales teams to communicate key product initiatives nationwide. In addition you’ll:
Conduct phone and field agency sales activities within identified territories and assist with agency management responsibilities.
Conduct agent phone and field visits to support contests/initiatives and/or to introduce program changes.
Assist in identifying viable agent prospects in desired geographic locations utilizing the internet, phone books and agent organization membership listings. Make outbound calls as necessary to support this activity.
Develop new and enhance existing agent premium sources to achieve sales and premium objectives.
Implement plans and programs to contribute to the achievement of agency produced sales and premium objectives.
Develop rapport with agents to develop profitable business.
Assist and train agents on the use of electronic interface(s) with the company.
What it Takes
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience with basic knowledge of insurance industry.
Sales training experience is a plus.
Highly motivated self starter with the drive to be a top performer.
Effective communication, organization, presentation and time-management skills.
Ability to work in a PC environment with basic knowledge of Microsoft products.
Ability to travel 25% of the time
Have a valid driver’s license as well as the ability to have and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle report.
