The purpose of this job is to facilitate the placement of new and renewal commercial lines business for the agency and specifically for the producers assigned to the unit. This function includes the marketing, rating, and checking of all policies and endorsements for accuracy.
Market new and renewal accounts for producers assigned to the unit, obtaining the best coverage and prices.
Maintain complete awareness and understanding of company underwriting practices, programs, plans and market direction including knowledge of binding authority/limitations.
Review early warning list and prospect list with producer each month to discuss account to be marketed and formulate marketing strategies in accordance with Commercial Lines Department early warning/prospect list procedures.
Attend company sponsored meetings/seminars and education activities in order to maintain product knowledge.
Checking of incoming policies and endorsements for accuracy before processing.
Ordering of new business and renewals upon being awarded the account.
Must have working knowledge of commercial lines coverages and rating procedures
Must have all licenses as required by all applicable State Department(s) of Insurance
Good oral and written communication skills
Minimum 4-5 years experience in insurance production or marketing position
Junior college/two-year college training required
