Provide critical advanced technical training, support and maintenance of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to insure uninterrupted production and well automation operations. Support and provide information to SCADA Leadership and SCADA Engineer for proper design, develop, document, coordination and implementation of changes to the SCADA system to support production and wellhead automation changes and engineering projects. Wellhead automation solutions include instrumentation, RTUs, PLCs, and communication network. Responsible for building the SCADA databases to acquire data from remote wellhead and production facility sites and work with Operation, Engineering and Applied Technology personnel to design and implement an Enterprise SCADA system that will support dynamic data consolidation. Create scripts, reports and troubleshooting tools using database tools like VB.Net and SQL queries. Must work closely with field operations technical leadership personnel in support of SCADA systems needs. Investigate, evaluate and recommend hardware, software, or service required to repair, replace, enhance, update or improve the SCADA environment. Work with software vendors and internal information technology personal to resolve software and data communication problems during outages. Assist with periodic software updates and software configurations as needed to maintain system integrity. Coordinate with vendors for product support. Responsible for writing documentation as needed to support job functions.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field desired. Successful candidate must have a minimum of 6 to 10 years working with SCADA or process control systems, and working knowledge of the CygNet SCADA system. This position requires proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems. Knowledge of Visual Basic and Visual Basic.Net is beneficial. Must be proficient with MS SQL database structure, stored procedures, triggers and query language. Good understanding of SCADA communication platform and protocols. Must adhere to good programming practices and strict testing standards.
