•Assist the cook on duty as needed, including assistance with the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals.
•Keep the kitchen area clean and sanitary, following the cleaning schedule.
•Wash and put away dishes..
•Stock condiments and other items, as needed.
•Prepare and serve the fruit and desserts for meals.
•Assist in preparation and serving of desserts and cakes as needed/requested for special occasions and activities.
•Assist in stocking and storage of food items delivered.
•Be available to serve residents during kitchen hours.
•Take garbage to basement following each meal.
•Inform Food Service Manager of any food items needing to be replenished.
•To maintain and respect privacy and confidentiality in relationship to both residents and staff.
•To treat all residents and staff with respect and dignity.
•To work in a team setting with staff from various departments.
•Ensure that proper hand washing, hygiene, and infection control techniques are exercised.
•To attend all in-service education programs and staff meetings required of all personnel.
•To seek out assistance when unsure of assignment, procedure, or situation.
•To report to clinical staff immediately when observing any unusual or significant change(s) in a
•resident’s physical or behavioral condition.
•Adhere to company policies, procedures, and management decisions.
•Other duties as assigned.
•This position requires standing and walking for two hours at a time, up to eight hours out of an eight-hour day on tile floors.
•Frequent lifting of up to 10 pounds is required, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds and moving up to 80 pounds seldom required.
•There is occasional bending, twisting, kneeling, or squatting.
•There is constant handling and grasping performed in this position, and reaching at all ranges of motion.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
•Applicant must be able to successfully pass a Washington State DSHS background check.
•Current Food Handler’s Card required.
•Applicant must obtain a TB test within 72 hours of hire.
•HIV/AIDS Training and CPR/First Aid Training within 30 days of hire. The before mentioned trainings can be waived if the applicant has current certifications.
