Atlanta Metropolitan State College, a four-year degree-granting institution of the University System of Georgia, is accepting applications for Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice. Atlanta Metropolitan College currently serves over 3000 commuting students on its beautifully landscaped campus which is located 10 minutes south of downtown Atlanta and 15 minutes north of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

This ten-month, tenure track faculty position reports to the Dean of the Division of Social Sciences. Major responsibilities include: teaching a 15 credit hour load each semester of Criminal Justice courses, which may be scheduled during morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours and in online or hybrid format; serving on college-wide, division, University System, and special committees; academic advisement; contributing to the ongoing improvement and development of Division of Social Sciences programs, courses and services; and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
An earned doctorate in Criminal Justice is required (a J.D. degree is not sufficient nor a substitute for a Ph.D.). Successful college level teaching in Criminal Justice is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Practical experience in Criminal Justice, including policing, is preferred. Commitment to service to the college, professional development, teaching in associate and baccalaureate degree programs, and effective online and hybrid course instruction is strongly preferred.
