This position is primarily responsible for the daily operation of non-credit Continuing Education classes and workshops in multiple program areas including developing and scheduling non-credit courses on and off campus. This position is responsible for recruiting, interviewing, supervising, and evaluating adjunct faculty and works collaboratively with the Manager, Continuing Education. This position oversees a program that operates on a cost-recovery basis and monitors an auxiliary budget for revenue and expenditures. This position is responsible for short and long range planning, program development and scheduling courses each term.
DUTIES OF POSITION:

*1. Develop, schedule and staff non-credit continuing education courses in program areas on and off campus.
*2. Oversee the instructional development process for all approved courses related to assigned program areas. Research, design, develop, implement and evaluate course curriculum on an on-going basis. Determine program and course costs and establish fees to ensure profitability of the program; cancel classes as needed.
*3. Identify and interview adjunct faculty as delegated by the Dean; supervise and evaluate non-credit adjunct faculty and classroom assistants in discipline areas.
*4. Recommend annual budget and resource allocation and monitor monthly expenditures necessary for success in a cost-recovery system. Determine program cost on a course-by-course basis and establish course fees to assure cost efficiency and program success. Recommend capital expenditures related to program development. Assist with short and long-range divisional planning and budget goals.
*5. Establish and monitor program quality in cooperation with the Manager, Continuing Education Programming including assessment surveys for program planning, implementation, analysis, reports and presentations.
*6. Initiate, plan, facilitate and coordinate staff development resources including facilities, equipment and instructional materials for workshops between instructors and Continuing Education staff, administrators and college staff.
*7. Research, identify and approve new facilities for classes due to facility restrictions at the college, regional centers and schools. Research and negotiate contracts with businesses and community facilities for use as additional sites.
*8. Develop a marketing strategy and prepare publicity in cooperation with the Manager, Continuing Education by writing promotional copy for the class schedule, brochures, flyers, news releases, paid advertising and the website.
*9. Preliminary approval of assignment sheet, independent contractor forms, purchase orders, substitute teacher forms, requisitions, advances and reimbursable expense forms, new course proposal forms, and work orders.
*10. Interpret, apply, advise and report to various program licensing agencies in order to maintain accreditation compliance.
*11. Compile and analyze departmental revenue and enrollment statistics and prepare reports as required by the Manager, Continuing Education.
*12. Provide high quality service in all interactions with community members, business contacts, college faculty, staff, administrators and students.
*13. Advise and counsel students on course selection and make recommendations for sequencing and placement to ensure correct choices to fulfill educational needs.
*14. Initiate payments for staff development stipends, part-time faculty substitutions, instructional assistants and independent contractors.
*15. Review, revise and update course descriptions, curriculum, textbooks and multi-media enhancements.
16. Establish and monitor program quality in conjunction with the Manager, Continuing Education including assessment surveys for program planning, implementation, analysis, reports and presentations.
17. Represent the college at local, national and international meetings, workshops and conference related to adult higher continuing education.
18. Work collaboratively with the Manager, Continuing Education to revise and update the Continuing Education website.

Master’s degree in continuing education or liberal arts.
1-2 years experience in program development, previous teaching experience at the college level or with adults.
