The Software Engineer has responsibilities extending to the development of systems software within the P&L.
Essential Responsibilities
Duties include (but are not limited to):
Design and build software solutions as part of an Agile development team
Use cutting edge technologies to develop the next generation of Healthcare IT systems
Share software, designs and knowledge with other talented developers across globally distributed teams
Work closely with customers, marketing, and service teams to solve customer problems and make a difference in healthcare
Review designs and implementations with team and customer for acceptance early in the development process
Design and implement highly available, scalable and reliable software solutions
Use Test Driven Design and/or implement automated unit testing to ensure robustness and highest quality
Occasional travel may be required (< 10%)
Quality Specific Goals:
1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
4. Ensure compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Outputs/Program Deliverables
5. Lead continuous improvement activities by driving the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related computer field or Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of technical experience in the software development or equivalent (defined as High School Diploma/GED and 8 years progressive experience as an engineer or scientist within the appropriate field of study)
5 years’ experience developing software for complex systems or computerized products
Software development cycle or automated testing experience
Experience in object oriented design methodology and various programming languages, including C/C++ and Java
Working knowledge in configuration management tools
