Work with all levels of personnel, from entry-level consultants to the President, including internal DRC staff and those from other companies.

The Senior Proposal Manager will work within a matrixed organization consisting of internal subject matter experts, sales, contracts, and pricing, as well as counterparts in teaming partner organizations. The daily responsibilities of the Senior Proposal Manager include:

Supporting and managing the full proposal process to develop written proposals for Federal clients in accordance with DRC standard processes and templates.

Applying best practices to ensure that proposal submissions are compliant with the applicable RFP instructions and delivered on time with minimal supervision.

Producing and performing rigorous quality assurance on both draft and final products.

Serving as a gatekeeper of the proposal process and ensuring compliance with internal controls.

Working with the proposal team and Capture Manager to determine author assignments and integrate win strategy, themes, and discriminators into proposal as the framework of the response.

Communicating and managing effective relationships with all levels of company and teammate personnel.

Directing multi-organizational teams in planning, storyboarding, and developing an effective customer-focused proposal. Identifies and escalates issues as necessary.

Providing insight, leadership, and work guidance to authors on content, graphics, and overall proposal development.

Leading, guiding, mentoring, and directing the work of proposal team personnel.

Instilling teamwork with all internal and external participants in proposal development efforts.

Maintaining internal materials in the current proposal library, including marketing slicks, past performances, and resumes, as well as tracking action items to ensure all are up to date.

Supporting other business development, operational, and corporate initiatives such as creating white papers, participating in strategy and information sessions, working with the sales team to develop presentation materials, and providing writing and editing support to client-facing consultants.

Required Skills

Successful candidates must have:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field.

Experience managing proposal teams and leading them to success in a dynamic, fast-paced environment supporting critical business development activities.

Strong analytical, organizational, and managerial skills.

The ability to use standard English writing styles and structures to write proposal sections; this includes the ability to research and synthesize information from multiple sources (subject matter experts, previous proposals) into a cohesive, easy-to-read, and persuasive final product.

Ability to edit proposal sections for structure, content, and messaging so they are easily readable, understandable, and compelling to the potential client.

Expert at identifying data that is needed for 100% compliance with the RFP.

Ability to effectively lead proposal review meetings and interview subject matter experts from a range of disciplines.

Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills; ability to interact with all levels of personnel.

Able to balance multiple projects and work to meet deadlines.

Experienced user of MS Word 2007 and key features including styles. Intermediate user knowledge of PowerPoint. Basic user knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Professional.

Required Experience

A minimum of 7-10 years proven successful experience managing, writing, and coordinating Federal Government proposals of moderate to high complexity.
