The Traffic Manager is responsible for efficiently and effectively managing jobs inside the Foundry Creative Department. The Traffic Manager acts as the Liaison between Brands/Account Management and Creative—coordinating and communicating pertinent information to all team members. Traffic is the nerve center of the Creative Department—scheduling all jobs, developing and managing timelines, assigning creative teams, distributing work requests, and monitoring internal time, as well as managing outside costs where applicable and spearheading efforts to resolve any conflicts. Traffic manages the daily workflow of projects from conception through completion, ensuring that deadlines are met.
Enters all jobs into project management system
Works closely with Account Manager and Brand Managers as needed to fully understand the scope of the project
Works closely with Creative Director in staffing for projects, tracking projects, problem solving, etc. This includes understanding job responsibilities for each creative team member, and intimate knowledge of project volume/workload of each creative team member.
Traffic artwork, production materials, and layouts through the creative department per scheduled action dates.
Keep jobs on schedule; but reschedule dates when necessary
Keep abreast of work in the Creative, Production and Account Service Departments and follows up on due dates that were established.
Keep all concerned parties informed on the current status of all jobs in progress via weekly status reports.
Expedite the “rush” jobs in such a way that process does not obstruct the orderly flow of every day work.
Maintain an accurate record of work in progress during all stages of jobs.
Organize and distribute job status reports as necessary.
Hold weekly (or as-needed) traffic meetings to update project teams on the status of jobs and to alert them of obstacles that may impede deadlines.
Obtain sufficient information from account personnel to distribute a work order that is complete and easy to understand (know when to bounce a work order).
Educate account personnel on how much time is required to complete various types of jobs.
Qualifications / Specific Skill Requirements:
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, management or related field
Project Management training and/or certification highly desirable
Excellent organization and communication skills, with an exceptional eye for detail.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
Excellent written, oral and proofreading skills a must.
Demonstrated ability to work as a team player.
Proactive self-starter that can maintain an upbeat, positive attitude.
Must be able to diplomatically enforce deadlines.
Must be able to solve problems in an efficient and professional manner.
Possess a strong work ethic and take pride in the quality of their work.
Willingness and ability to do what it takes to see project through to completion and meet tight deadlines.
Ample knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and strong computer skills are required.
A basic knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe CS Suites
