Position Summary

To support the day-to-day availability and reliability of the following Administrative Applications: Payroll, Personnel, and Financial Systems.

Essential Duties

75%

System Management:
·

Provide effective applications support to users to assure appropriate use of systems.

·

Assist in the design of application additions and changes as they relate to user input.

·

Assist with the liaison function and consistency of program code with District needs and locally developed software.

·

Support MIS security for all systems.

·

Ensure viability of application backups.

·

Support for software and systems maintenance during off hours.

·

Maintain confidentiality and properly disposing of confidential data and documentation.

Reporting:
·

Develop and maintain process for the use of ad-hoc reporting by users.

10%

Training and Documentation:
·

Develop and implement effective procedures for the following:
ü

Maintenance of Documentation

ü

Testing of new and /or changed application software

ü

Creating local modifications to application software

5%

Change Management:
·

Define, schedule and log all activities associated with application changes affecting the Finance, Payroll and Personnel systems.

·

Communicate and collaborate with the rest of the IT department. Coordinate with the applications group, network, and operations to provide user support.

·

Function as a SME on systems and answer questions.

·

Recommend to management all issues where software does not meet specifications or there is need for modification.

·

Other duties as assigned by the Director of MIS.

Non-Essential Duties

·

Other duties as assigned:
ü

Provide support for district events outside the designated work hours

ü

Create and maintain images for all computer models for each building level

ü

Packaging software to be delivered

ü

Supervise student interns and part-time employees

ü

Ensure viability of school tape backups

ü

Proper disposal of retired technology equipment

ü

Assist in maintaining Active Directory accounts

Education and Experience

·

Associate Degree in Information Systems or equivalent training and experience.

·

Working knowledge of PC Tools: word processing, spreadsheet, and database.

·

Demonstrable skill in project planning, documentation preparation.

·

Experience with enterprise application database management and development tools.

·

Familiarity with Microsoft technology.

·

Ability to communicate with and work with users with a wide range of technical ability.

·

Strong business analytical and technical skills.

·

Excellent time management skills.

KNOWLEDGE

·

Strong understanding of Lawson Finance and Budget and Planning modules

·

Strong understanding of Kronos time management application

·

Strong understanding of Subfinder substitute call out system

·

Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Integration Services, .NET, C#

·

Working knowledge of various web design/graphic design tools (Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Photoshop)

·

Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle methods

·

Knowledge of personal computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Project applications

·

Exposure to reporting tools such as Tableau and QlikView
