JOB TITLE: Bookkeeper/Office Manager



FLSA STATUS: Full Time, exempt

General Statement of Duties

The mission of BREATHE LA is promoting clean air and healthy lungs through research, education, advocacy and technology. This position will perform diverse financial and related business matters, with the following duties and responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Cash management related to bank reconciliations, investment monitoring, and reconciliations
  • Budget preparation
  • Per Form accounting cycle
  • Process all banking deposits
  • Process payroll and related matters
  • Publish all internal financial statements
  • Prepare for year end financial audit
  • Preparation of year end tax reports
  • Renewal of all business insurance policies
  • Provide financial information for business plans
  • Maintain G/L accurately and to-date
  • Submission or see that all required government reports are filed on time, such as Form 990, State, County, Municipal
  • Assist with property management
  • Maintain assets inventory – financial, equipment, and supplies
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

q Bachelor's degree in accounting, knowledge of nonprofit financial statements

q In lieu of associate degree in accounting, minimum 5 years of proven bookkeeping and office management work experience in a nonprofit organization may be considered
