UK HealthCare Information Technology Services has posted the Technology Network Engineer III/UKHC role. This role will be held accountable for establishing strong credibility & collaboration with our physicians, customers, department leadership, affiliated organizations, and all I.T. staff members. This is a highly matrixed organization which requires excellent interpersonal skills, persuasion and influencing skills, ability to lead large multi-disciplinary teams through significant amount of varied work assignments.
The successful Technology Network Engineer III/UKHC will design and configure network equipment, including working with users and other IT staff to determine network design requirements. The Technology Network Technician III/UKHC will also be responsible for planning and executing work assignments to complete network additions or replacements, and conducting site surveys when required. Additional responsibilities include completing job assignments for I.T. Governance projects and milestones; adherence to the UK HealthCare Behavioral Expectations; practical knowledge of project management principles and tools; and adherence to established UKITS PMO project methodologies.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will have the following skills: strong collaboration and team working skills; critical thinking; detail-oriented; problem solving and excellent interpersonal and communication, both written and verbal. Knowledge of network layouts, configurations, and Cisco IOS. Knowledge of project management methodologies and practice is preferred. In addition, the ideal candidate must be able to work successfully with multiple individuals in various departments in a highly matrix organization.
Preferred Education / Experience
Prefer a Bachelor's Degree and 5 years previous experience in an academic healthcare environment with demonstrated expertise in network engineering. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification is required within one year of hire date.
