Technical Expertise Required A strong expertise and knowledge is required in ISeries operating system v54 Expertise in higher versions a plus iSeries DB2 database design definitions and functionality Current supported programming languages RPGIII RPGIV RPGIV FreeForm a plus RPGIVILE Modular Concepts a plus CL DDS CommercialWare is a must JDA is a big plus SQL interactive and embedded in RPG programs a plus A minimum of 8 years experience as a ProgrammerAnalyst or above within an iSeries environment along with the proven ability to meet the above challenges skill set requirements and responsibilities General Knowledge and Capabilities The nature of this position requires the following knowledge and demonstrable capabilities The ability to provide technical support for unexpected problems without compromising established schedules and commitments The ability to make appropriate decisions independently and within a group setting The ability to stay abreast of technological advances and industry requirements to ensure the organization has the most appropriate efficient systems and solutions available Must be willing and available to work varying hours to support the needs of the business The ability to communicate appropriately both verbal and written to all levels within the organization The ability to be a technical resource for lower level coworkers offering guidance training and knowledge sharing The ability to coordinate the installation and support of new andor modified solutions The ability to handle multiple tasksresponsibilities simultaneously The ability and resourcefulness to handle rapidly changing priorities to support business demands The ability to remain productive while working within a team environment or as an individual resource Accountability Objective To understand the business and information needs of the client community within the organization To respond promptly to client problems and changing business needs while maintaining scheduled commitments To promptly report to the appropriate seniorlevel individual any status changes issues or other events that may adversely affect the organization or project timeline To design develop and implement highquality and efficient solutions in a timely manner Solutions will range from simple to a high level of complexity to achieve the following Reduce costs Improve operating efficiencies Provide meaningful information needed for decision making Ensure client satisfaction Support organizational business strategy and goals Train and mentor colleagues to ensure a competent staff capable of meeting organizational needs Nature and Scope of Position This position has a direct report to a Project Manager It will have high organizational visibility and frequent contact with client groups within the organization to understand and identify issues and define business requirements It is expected that this position will collaborate with client stakeholders and the Application Development team to ensure that designed solutions are feasible and appropriate This position will be required to assist Project Managers andor other management personnel with project planning and execution This position receives minimal supervisionguidance Responsibilities include but may not be limited to Performs andor directs all aspects of the application development lifecycle process Analyzes and documents complex business requirements Translates business requirements into programming and database specifications to be used by development resources Presentation of designed solutions to the Project Manager and client audience Provides estimates of proposed work Assists in project planning and execution Tracks and reports issuesproject status on a regular basis Provides the necessary safeguards and appropriate software interfaces between applications to ensure data integrity Develops and performs test cases for unit integration and system testing Performs secondary quality assurance testing Performs secondary code reviews Enforces established procedures and practices Assists in client testing Directs ProgrammerAnalyst activities in support of the project Coordination with IT Operations to review implementation and support plans Ensures proper and complete change management documentation Follows Application Development team standards guidelines and procedures Authority This position does not have any reporting subordinates however it does require basic supervisory oversight to lowerlevel developers Feedback from this supervision is delivered to the reporting Project Manager
