Description

Cargill's meat business, headquartered in Wichita, KS, is comprised of beef, pork, and turkey, value added meats; case ready, distribution and feeder operations. Cargill's meat businesses employ approximately 35,000 worldwide with processing facilities and sales offices in the US, Canada, Australia, China, Honduras, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.

Modern meat processing operations contain a wide array of technical systems and equipment in the production process. In order to support these systems, Cargill is the industry leader in the implementation of the Reliability Based Maintenance Model that utilizes technologies such as thermo graphic survey, tribology, ultrasonic leak detection, vibration analysis, and quantitative analysis to take a pro-active role in predicting potential system failures rather than reacting to them.

Engineering and technical positions at Cargill offer unique opportunities in supervising and solving process challenges. Technical careers focus on facility reliability and maintenance management including root cause analysis and RCM analysis, facility layout and design, process optimization, systems improvements, new construction & facility expansion, waste stream & utility management, equipment re-design, operations research, and automation engineering.

The work environment is fast-paced, hands-on, and is built around good communication and teamwork with facility operations and business functions. Careers start with general and technical training at one of our production facilities.
