Cargill's meat business, headquartered in Wichita, KS, is comprised of beef, pork, and turkey, value added meats; case ready, distribution and feeder operations. Cargill's meat businesses employ approximately 35,000 worldwide with processing facilities and sales offices in the US, Canada, Australia, China, Honduras, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
Modern meat processing operations contain a wide array of technical systems and equipment in the production process. These systems include ammonia refrigeration, steam generation, electrical distribution, hydraulic power, pneumatic power, material handling & industrial sorting systems, waste stream treatment, automated & manual processing equipment, conveying, and robotics. In order to support these systems, Cargill is the industry leader in the implementation of the Reliability Based Maintenance Model that utilizes technologies such as thermo graphic survey, tribology, ultrasonic leak detection, vibration analysis, and quantitative analysis to take a pro-active role in predicting potential system failures rather than reacting to them.
Engineering and technical positions at Cargill offer unique opportunities in supervising and solving process challenges. A candidate’s first assignment may be in Fort Morgan Colorado, Dayton Virginia, or Waco Texas.
Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural, Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
Strong communication, presentation, and people skills
Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
Willingness to work in a fast pace plant environment
General Microsoft computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Willing to relocate
Right to work in US that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
A GPA of 3.0 or higher
