Linux Kernel Developer/Research Engineer (AST)

Role and Responsibilities

Strong knowledge of popular Linux distributions; e.g.; Redhat, CentOS, and Ubuntu

Strong C/C++ development, debugging, and testing skills

Proven track record of developing for the Linux kernel, modules, drivers, and patches

Understanding of information security practices (cryptography, etc.)

Strong knowledge of network protocols, e.g.; HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, SMB, RPC, TFTP, SNMP, DHCP

Deep understanding of existing memory management and scheduling algorithms

Strong technical writing skills

Experience with open source software and development tools

Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment

Must be able to work in a team environment

Must have the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Security Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Preferred - Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related program with 2 - 4 years of experience; or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related program with 5 - 7 years experience; or 9+ years of job related experience
