The Front Desk Representative controls the patient and work flow at the clinical site by performing all activities at the front desk including, but not limited to: greeting patients; answering phones; scheduling patients; ensuring the provider's schedules are timely and accurate; obtaining accurate, timely registration and insurance information; assisting clinicians with pre-certifications/referrals, faxes and chart preparation; providing clerical support to physicians, clinicians, mid-level providers and staff.

High School diploma or equivalent required. College coursework in the secretarial or medical sciences preferred. Minimum of one year working experience in a physician's office required, preferably in a similar capacity. Other requirements include: familiarity with medical terminology; proficiency using Microsoft Windows applications including MS Outlook, Excel and Word; accurate and efficient keyboarding skills. Must have a strong customer service orientation, the ability to communicate and listen effectively in English, strong writing skills, basic competency in mathematics, the ability to operate standard office equipment such as fax machines, calculators and copiers, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work with frequent interruption Bilingual is preferred.
