The School of the Art Institute is seeking a Web Systems Administrator who will
support, configure and maintain academic web services such as content management system, digital asset management, email marketing, event management software, and other web-based systems. Will coordinate with academic and administrative departments to ensure that web services function as required. Serves as highest tier of support in troubleshooting and resolving system issues. Works with software developers to design, test and install customizations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the administration, troubleshooting, configuration and maintenance of critical web systems such as a content management system, digital asset management system, email marketing system, and other web-based systems.
Coordinates the implementation and maintenance of data integration processes between web systems, other internal databases, and new online services.
Assists CRIT Help Desk as highest tier of support for end-user issues. Coordinates with vendors and internal staff to identify, document and resolve any major system defects.
Coordinates with vendors and internal stakeholders to plan and implement major system upgrades. Manages incremental upgrades and security patches.
Performs application administration such as customizing user views, managing and maintaining user access privileges, and fulfilling requests for data exports
Assists in-house and external developers in designing, testing, and maintaining custom components for CMS, DAM, Email Marketing and other systems.
Meets regularly with CRIT and other departmental staff to review projects and encourage general communication and teamwork. Participates in technical training workshops for departmental staff, and encourages the sharing of technical expertise and resources.
Experience with web systems administration, preferably content management systems like TerminalFOUR and Wordpress; Experience with ExactTarget or other email marketing tools
Understanding of large web applications and relational database systems; Experience working with vendors and end-users in a support role; Demonstrable troubleshooting and strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Self-learner; Ability to work independently
Experience working in a higher education environment; Experience with software systems common to higher education, such as: cloud services, identity management systems, Google Apps for Education, PeopleSoft, SalesForce or other student information systems, LDAP schemas, single-sign on, or similar systems; Experience managing and monitoring critical, high-availability systems with a large number of users. Experience creating documentation of technical systems
