The Kidney Disease Section, NIDDK has an opening for a clinical research fellow in nephrology. The position involves training in the design and execution of natural history studies and clinical trials in glomerular disease, with a particular focus on minimal change disease and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis. Clinical research training includes regular nephrology and clinical research conferences, and the possibility of participating in a two-year program sponsored by NIH and Duke University that leads to a Master of Health Science in clinical research. Our research group studies mechanisms of disease using genetic and proteomic approaches and carries out phase 2 studies of novel agents to induce remission, reduce proteinuria, and slow progressive loss of renal function. We are seeking an individual who has completed a nephrology fellowship and is a US citizen or permanent resident. There is a possibility of repayment of qualifying educational loans.
