This position provides quality patient registration services for at least one of the following areas: Inpatient Admitting, Hospital based Ancillary Services, Same Day Surgery Center, Pre-Admission Interview and the Emergency Department. This individiual greets patients, completes the registration, and also reponds to various inquries from physicians, nurses, internal staff, patients and visitors. The Hospital Access Representative must have knowledge of insurance coverage and the patient access regulations on our contracted plans. This individual is responsible for securing complete and accurate demographic and coverage information and is the source for all hospital and physician billing. The Hospital Access Representative must disply service oriented, compassionatle, and professional behavior. This individual must adhere to HIPPA compliance and ensure that all patient information is securely obtained and protected.

Position Requirements:
Minimum Education:
Required: High School Diploma
Preferred: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education

Position Responsibilities: Completes patient registration using the EPIC Prelude system. At times must escort patient to their service destination. Accurately inquries and documents all Advance Directive information. Scans current insurance cards and drivers license on all patients. Obtains referral forms and/or contacts HMO/PCP as appropriate to endsure that all pre-certification requirements are met to ensure maximum reimbursement. Transciribes accurate bed reservation information phoned into the department from physicians or their designate, including the admitting diagnosis, scheduled procedure, and type of bed needed. Through training must obtain competency in the following software systems: EPIC, Diamond, EEV/NDAS, IDX Scheduling, and Excel. Monitors patient waiting areas to ensure patients are informed of any delays. Answers calls with 3 rings. Receive and receipt payments from patient for services rendered. Understands the death certificate and release of body process to accurately assist physicians in completely said certificates.
