Selection Procedure: The process will begin with the competitive screening of qualified applicants. The most qualified applicants will be invited to participate in a written, oral and/or practical examination process. Successful candidates will be ranked on an eligibility list according to the examination score. Final selection will then be made in accordance with Merit System rules from the established eligibility list. Fingerprinting and criminal record checks will be done on all prospective employees.

Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent, plus completion of a formal training program in a skilled trade, supplemented by additional supervisory training is required. Minimum of 8 years of total experience, 5 in skilled trade work and 3 in a leadership capacity. Licenses and Certificates: Requires a valid California Driver’s License. The current salary range is $60,185 - $71,861 per year, depending on depth of experience. An attractive fringe benefit package is offered as well as an annual $1,655 Master’s stipend. PERS (retirement) is fully paid by the District. EMPLOYEE BENEFITS All regular employees who work a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week are entitled to the following fringe benefits (effective on the first of the month following employment): Anthem Blue Cross Hospital/Medical, Dental Care, and Vision Care plan for employee; Life Insurance coverage for employee only; Long Term Disability coverage; sick leave; membership in the Public Employees Retirement System. (The District pays the employee’s contributions to the retirement fund.)
